Gary subscribed to Personal Computer World magazine at the age of twelve in 1981 and taught himself BASIC in his parents' attic when he should have been chasing girls. He has been messing around with technology for more than thirty years and writing about it online for ten. When he's not been doing that he has run a mid-sized software company, been a product group director at Microsoft and most recently is the UK managing director for Xero - "Beautiful Accounting Sofware" where he occasionally also writes about the future of business tech. He's a Glaswegian.

Gary has been writing at Memoria Technica since November 2001, you can also follow @garyturner on Twitter.
